Ngukurr School
Ngukurr School's mosaic garden depicts the totemic geography of the country, or cantri in Kriol, of the different peoples of the Roper River region. The totemic animals associated with social organisation and meaning are placed in the Roper River landscape on those parts of the landscape they protect. It's a wonderful work of art based on traditional knowledge and makes a great entrance to the School and a valuable teaching place.
