Milyakburra School

Milyakburra School is beautifully built and nestled amongst the trees as you enter the Community, currently with two professional teachers and two assistant teachers, it is strongly supported by parents participating in the education process. Check out their Blog at http://milyakburra.edublogs.org

Everyone was thrilled Milyakburra won the Smart Schools Award in 2010 for their market garden which grows and sells vegetables to raise funds for the School. The School is often the centre of activity, especially when the Groote Eylandt and Milyakburra Youth Development Unit (GEMYDU) visit, as can be seen below from one of their activity days in 2009.

Painting masks, faces, hair, everyone got into the fun of the day.	Some great designs were proudly shown off when the tie dyeing results were revealed.
Lipstick was a personal favourite for the girls.
