Gapuwiyak School
Parents and the community are very proud of the increasing number of students that are staying on at Gapuwiyak School through to Year 12 and, supported by the NT Open Education Centre, graduating with their NT Certificate of Education. In 2010 a record number of students joined that illustrious group:
Class of 2009 graduate Laura Butjala won the Award for Best Student doing Integrated Learning based on her project that combined learning office computer skills with studying how different businesses in the community use computers. After graduating she did a work placement at Gapuwiyak Health Centre which led to a traineeship with Territory Health.
