Angurugu School held a 'Back to School' event in May 2011 to highlight that parents must send children to school: Every Child, Every Day. Amongst the speakers were ex students Tony Wurramarrba (Anindilyakwa Land Council Chairman), Thomas Amagula (ALC Board member) and Jackie Amagula (retired Angurugu School teacher). In 2009 Angurugu School commissioned Leslie Huddleston to work with students and paint four of the School's doors, and the end result was some beautiful works of art and they still look terrific.
